Residential rooftop + battery backup · Portland, OR · Completed in 9 days
A family tired of rising rates.
The Sherer family watched their electricity bill climb three years running. Their south-facing roof was ideal, but a heritage oak shaded the west slope — so we designed a split array with optimizers that keeps shaded panels from dragging down the rest.
The challenge: partial afternoon shade and a strict HOA design review. Our approach: a shade-mapped layout, all-black panels for curb appeal, and HOA paperwork filed before the family signed — approval landed in six days.
Bills down, blackouts irrelevant.
Near-zero bills
Spring through fall the home banks surplus credits; winter draws them back down. The annual true-up is a fraction of the old bills.
Outage ride-through
A wall-mounted battery carries refrigeration, heat, and home office through multi-hour outages automatically.
Nine-day turnaround
From first crew arrival to permission-to-operate in just over a week, permits included.
